Loela Cunningham was the fourth child of William Joseph Cunningham and his second wife Sarah Lela Russell. Loela was a school teacher in Lamar County, Alabama. She never married and is buried in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in the Bluff Community in Fayette County, Alabama.
